Arun Kumar, Ph.D.

Dr. Arun Kumar is the Head of Digital & Data Science at Envu. He brings two decades of expertise spanning commercial operations, management consulting, business development and R&D in the life sciences sector. His career trajectory includes leadership roles at industry giants Medtronic, Bayer, and Envu.

Before Envu's inception, Dr. Kumar spearheaded commercial operations as Head of South Asia for Bayer Environmental Science. Prior to that, he was the first employee at Bayer’s LifeScience iHub in Silicon Valley, where he set the strategy and led business development for various digital innovation initiatives. During his time at Bayer Business Consulting, he drove initiatives in innovation, M&A/divestitures, and business transformation. Dr. Kumar's foundation in life sciences was built at Medtronic, where he contributed to R&D and clinical testing of cutting-edge implantable cardiac devices as a research scientist. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Kumar enjoys travel, hiking and volunteering with Vibha for the education of underprivileged children in India.
