Nick Pashos
CEO and Founder of BioAesthetics
Dr. Nicholas Pashos founded BioAesthetics to improve people’s lives through tissue engineering. Prior to BioAesthetics, Dr. Pashos attended Drexel University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering. He then worked at the Massachusetts General Hospital in the Institute of Neurodegenerative Diseases. He completed his PhD in Bioinnovation at Tulane University as a National Science Foundation IGERT Fellow. While at Tulane University, Dr. Pashos became aware of the lack of satisfactory reconstruction options for nipple reconstruction following mastectomies and the effects this has on millions of breast cancer survivors. He began developing a graft to regrow the nipple and areola, creating the foundation for BioAesthetics. Dr. Pashos’ research background has been focused on tissue engineering and biomaterials, and includes unidirectional cell-guided growth in biomaterials for spinal cord injury repair, whole-lung regeneration in bioreactors, in-vitro 3D scaffolds for tumor research, and development of BioAesthetics’ NACgraft.
