Eva Garland
Eva Garland Consulting was founded by Dr. Eva Garland in 2013, with the mission of Advancing Science. Dr. Garland excels in securing funding and leading scientific teams to develop and commercialize innovative new technologies that span the biological and physical sciences.
Prior to founding EGC, Dr. Garland served on the Chemistry Faculty of NC State University and then led the Research & Development team at Agile Sciences, where she secured over $15 million in non-dilutive funding.
At EGC, Dr. Garland and her team have helped clients win and manage hundreds of grants totaling over $300 million to support research and development of innovative technologies. Dr. Garland actively participates on Federal and State grant review panels, and has served as a reviewer for the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s report on the DOE SBIR/STTR program. She has been the lead author for three editions of EGC’s best-selling book, “Winning SBIR/STTR Grants: A Ten Week Plan for Preparing Your NIH Phase I Application,” as well as “Winning SBIR/STTR Grants: A Twelve Week Plan for Preparing Your NIH Phase II Application.
Throughout her career, Dr. Garland has received numerous awards including recognition as CEO of the fastest-growing female led company in North Carolina (INC5000, 2018) and a Certificate of Merit Award from the American Chemical Society Division of Environmental Chemistry.
Education: B.A. in Chemistry from Columbia University; Ph.D. in Chemistry from Caltech.
