First Flight Venture Center is delighted to host lunchtime programs, "Itineraries" that offer a chance for members of the First Flight community and broader innovation ecosystem to learn about the work of early-stage science-focused companies, network and have some fun at the same time! An Itinerary is ‘a planned route or journey’ and this program gives companies often who are in residence at First Flight a forum in which to share where they are and where they plan to go.

We are thrilled to host Doug Grant, co-founder of Atlantic Fish Co. Their Research Triangle, North Carolina team is using cellular agriculture to develop cultivated seafood. They are focused on wild fish species that have high carbon footprints due to trawling, which releases up to 1.5 gigatons of GHG per year.
They are developing a novel bioengineering approach to cellular agriculture and are raising their pre-seed round after completing the IndieBio NY accelerator.
THIS IS A HYBRID EVENT. WE WILL BE MEETING IN PERSON IN THE HUTCHISON CONFERENCE ROOM.
Who: Doug Grant
Company: Atlantic Fish Co.
When: Tuesday, August 15th, 12-1pm EST
Doug's experiences include:
Experienced product manager leveraging experience as a startup co-founder and Naval Aviation veteran to use human-centered design in IT transformation of the Navy's HR systems. My previous work at Booz was as a scrum master on a product development team, Enforce Field. This computer vision project is at the nexus of Artificial Intelligence, AR/VR, and drone technologies.
Prior to Boos Allen, I co-founded a healthcare startup, Hemeos. Hemeos was a blood stem cell donor registry operating out of the 1776 Incubator. We recruited donors hospitals accessed through a web-based application to find suitable genetic matches for blood cancer patients. In this role, I led a 5-person team to develop a startup from concept to market in the highly regulated healthcare industry. I honed skills in startup operations, business development, fundraising, and managing an agile software product development team.
