Hangar6 is on the Move

Research Triangle Park- August 17 2022 - First Flight Venture Center is pleased to announce that the Hangar6 program will be moving home to be an in-house program at First Flight, after previously being housed at 6 Davis Dr. This move corresponds with Hangar6’s new business model that focuses primarily on contract or grant-funding assistance, alongside a revamped membership model.

“This is an exciting time in Hangar6’s journey as a First Flight program,’ says First Flight President Krista Covey. ‘For the first time in several years Hangar6 will once again be housed at First Flight, and therefore its services can be more readily accessible to our resident companies and entrepreneurs who are developing high-science, high-impact solutions. This move, along with our new membership model and an increased emphasis on providing contract or grant funding project assistance, marks a new era for the Hangar6 program at First Flight.’”

Hangar6 aims to support entrepreneurs and startups who are developing high science, high impact, high technology prototypes in their path to commercialization through the development and fabrication of mechanical and electronic devices.

“The core mission of Hangar6, to help entrepreneurs and startups to commercial success, has not changed,’ emphasizes Hangar6 Director Dr. Mark Roberson. ‘The recent developments at Hangar6 are aimed at refocusing our efforts to assist entrepreneurs with essential services such as project management, engineering, prototyping, and technical assistance. These services will allow Hangar6 to be a sustainable resource and partner for years to come.’”

Working with Hangar6 boosts the odds of winning a grant proposal with higher quality pre-proposal materials and speeding up the early-project operations to be more productive and cost effective. Hangar6 provides efficient, high-value, and nimble services to entrepreneurs developing TLR 2- TLR 5 level concepts so that they can achieve commercialization success.

Hangar6’s new membership model is geared to both companies looking for a more traditional membership, and to those seeking assistance with a specific contract or grant funding proposal. The more traditional membership model is a 3-tiered system, based on the number of users and consulting time, with team memberships available upon request.
