Hangar6, is the Research Triangle region’s premier prototyping and design assistance space for technology-based companies. Hangar6 enables designing, building and modeling product prototypes using tools, such as 3D scanners, CO2 lasers, metal fiber lasers, CNC mill, 3D printers and more.

Visit the Hangar6 website.

Hangar6 was created by the First Flight Venture Center (FFVC), North Carolina’s foremost science and technology business incubator. With a focus on High Science-High Impact, in the past 26 years, FFVC has helped launch more than 300 companies with a combined value in excess of $7B.

The Hangar6 advanced prototyping space is ready to help you speed your vision to reality.

By adding Hangar6, FFVC is providing access to equipment, workspace and a community of like-minded people and experienced technologists—all the resources you need to get your ideas off the napkin and into the marketplace.

Hangar6 is funded by a $450,000 challenge grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce under the Regional Innovation Strategies (RIS) program. FFVC was among 36 organizations, selected from a pool of more than 215 applicants, to receive a total of $15 million from the federal Regional Innovation Strategies (RIS) program. Three key project partners are behind FFVC’S Hangar6 Program: Alexandria Real Estate Equities (ARE), the NC Center of Innovation Network (COIN) and Eva Garland Consulting (EGC).

The Hangar6 prototyping facility is designed to have an ongoing, self-sustaining source of funding through subscription fees for use of the equipment, as well as sponsorship opportunities for companies that offer resources and services needed by companies engaged in the prototyping process.

Visit the Hangar6 website to find out more about the facility, the program and how you can join to start seeing your ideas become a reality.
