FIRST FLIGHT VENTURE CENTER ELECTS TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. (April 26, 2016) – First Flight Venture Center (FFVC), a science and technology incubator for entrepreneurs in North Carolina, is pleased to announce the election of two new members to the FFVC Board of Directors. Peter Ginsberg, Associate Vice President, Business Development at United Therapeutics Corporation and Cathy “Cat” Frieden Lineberry, Principal at Sunrise Therapeutics, LLC.

These individuals bring a wealth of experience and expertise in their fields and will be tremendous assets to our Board as we further our mission to foster innovation and grow sustainable companies.”
Peter Ginsberg leads business development for United Therapeutics (UT), a former resident of First Flight Venture Center. His focus is on acquiring promising companies and drug candidates to expand UT’s pipeline, with an emphasis on orphan diseases. Prior to UT, Ginsberg was VP of Business & Technology Development for the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, where his group financed and advised emerging biotechnology companies. He also consulted to a range of healthcare companies on BD transactions and strategic opportunities.
Previously, Ginsberg headed business development and strategic planning for SurModics, a publicly traded leader in the field of drug delivery. He also spent 15 years in the healthcare investment industry, during which time he was named a Wall Street Journal All-Star as Piper Jaffray’s lead biotechnology analyst.
Ginsberg acts as a reviewer for both the National Cancer Institute and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and is also on the Industry Advisory Council for CureSearch for Children’s Cancer. He earned an A.B. in Economics from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
Cat Lineberry is Principal and Co-Founder of Sunrise Therapeutics, LLC, a firm that provides consulting services on corporate development and strategic business issues as well as on clinical and regulatory issues in drug development. Cat has more than 30 years of cross-functional pharmaceutical experience in basic and clinical research, as well as experience in business development and marketing. She was formerly the Co-Founder and President of Lineberry Research Associates (LRA), a privately held CRO and strategic consulting firm that provided drug development services to the pharmaceutical industry. LRA received numerous awards in the business and scientific community for its sustained growth and success over more than a decade. It was also widely recognized for its focus on corporate culture and commitment to community service. The company was acquired in 2006 after which Cat served as Vice President, Strategic Affairs.
Prior to founding LRA, Cat spent 14 years at Burroughs Wellcome Co. (now GlaxoSmithKline), holding positions in clinical research, product management, managed care and corporate affairs. Actively involved in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology community, Cat has been an advisor to several firms in the RTP area and served on the Board of Gentris Corporation, a pharmacogenomics company.
In addition, Cat has maintained her focus on community service; she is the past Board Chair of the local area Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and continues to serve on the Board. She has also been involved with various strategic committees and/or volunteering roles for a an array of different organizations, including the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, The Nature Conservancy, various animal rescue organizations and reading programs for disadvantaged children. Cat has previous work experience in behavioral and neurological toxicology at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and academic training in pharmacy administration. She graduated with highest honors with a B.A. in psychology and is Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
