Zenalux Biomedical
Zenalux Biomedical was founded in 2006 by Duke University Professor Nimmi Ramanujam.
Zenalux Biomedical is a private company located in the Research Triangle Park, NC. The
company develops novel optical diagnostic tools to aid in the clinical diagnosis and treatment
of cancer. Zenalux has a strong team with expertise in medicine, clinical studies, biophysics,
biomedical and optical engineering and administration. They work in a number of different areas
of biophotonics, ranging from the development of mathematical models to describe the basic
physics of light propagation in turbid media (tissue) to engineering new optical technologies for
clinical diagnosis of breast cancer and intraoperative assessment of tumor margins.
