RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – First Flight Venture Center announced today the addition of Kenneth T. Tyra as Executive-In-Residence. Tyra has been a lead executive or founder in a wide range of start-up and established businesses. Tyra has a lengthy legal bio as well, including roles as a Partner at Dorsey & Whitney LLP in its Minneapolis and Denver offices and as Associate General Counsel at the University of Minnesota. Specific to the Triangle area, Tyra was CEO of HiddenMind Technology, Inc., a Cary-based wireless data software company that grew to 150 employees and raised over $30 Million in equity, including $25 Million from New York City based Warburg Pincus Funds.
Tyra received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Michigan. He has been a frequent speaker, including adjunct teaching at the college level. Tyra has also served on a number of nonprofit and for profit boards, including The Management Assistance Project for Nonprofits of Minneapolis/St. Paul and Fremont Health Care Clinics (now known as Neighborhood HealthSource) in Minneapolis.
