Since opening in 1992, FFVC has evolved into a flagship business incubator, serving as model program for other small business incubators across the state. Global interest in the Research Triangle Park incubator is demonstrated by the roster of international visitors to the Center each year, including entrepreneurs, economic developers, and government officials.
Over 260 clients have graduated from First Flight encompassing a wide range of technology sectors. A few of the large successes include United Therapeutics (http://www.unither.com), SciQuest (http://www.sciquest.com), and Bloodhound Software (now Verisk Analystics http://www.verisk.com). In addition, several companies have been acquired by industry players such as Pearson, GSK and others.
