WHAT IS A BUSINESS INCUBATOR?

Business incubators provide a physical location in which a new business can start, in an environment supported by business advice and shared services.

First Flight accommodates 30 – 40 small businesses, all working towards the goal of graduating from the facility within 3-5 years. During this time, the owner has access to business advice and support services for the purpose of getting the business off and running in a cost effective and supportive environment.

First Flight’s goal is to reduce the failure rate of start-up businesses, which makes companies economically viable as they help to create jobs and stimulate the economy.

FFVC RESOURCES

The front door to the building is open from approximately 7:45 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. If you would like to access the building after hours we can furnish you with card access.

All members are welcome to drop in any time, but conference rooms and offices are available on a first come, first serve basis with preference given to those with reservations. You must register on the FFVC website at www.ffvcnc.org and go the login tab to hold your reservation. We will provide you with access directions once you are accepted as a Friend.

Members may sign up for an office (suites 503 and 504) by the hour, ½ day or full day. These offices are equipped with a 19” monitor and high-speed Internet access. Offices will be available 24/7.

Office space usage is limited to once per week for one day or twice a week for ½ day.

Members will reserve office space on the FFVC web site (www.ffvcnc.org).

FFVC has several conference rooms available. Wireless Internet access, projectors and telephones are available in all conference rooms.

  • The Draper Conference Room is a standard conference room that handles 5-10 people. It is equipped with a drop down projection screen, conference phone and white board. A projector is also available. It is available 24/7 and may be reserved via the FFVC website.
  • The Spratt Conference Room is a standard conference room that handles 5-10 people. It is equipped with a conference phone. It is available 24/7 and may be reserved via the FFVC website.
  • The FFVC Executive Conference Room is equipped with conference phone and wall mounted LCD monitor. It can be reserved by each “Friend of First Flight” for up to eight hours a month (more time for $50/hour or $300/day). It is available Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 6 pm. If you need this room at other times you will need to make arrangements with FFVC staff for access.
  • The Hutchison Conference Room handles up to 75 people and is available once a month. For Friends of First Flight, additional time each month can be reserved for $75/hour or $500/day, paid in advance. This room is equipped with a drop down projection screen, conference phone and white board. A projector is also available.

**NOTE: To cancel or change your reservation, please log on to IncuTrack (firstflight.incutrack.net) and make any necessary changes. If you do not arrive within 15 minutes of your reservation, the room may be forfeited if needed by someone else.

You may have mail and packages delivered to our building. We will email you if a package arrives, however it will be your responsibility to check the Friends mailboxes for US mail. You may use the following mailing address; please be sure that your name/business name is on all incoming mail:
