The Department of Labor (DOL) recently issued proposed regulations revising the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) exemptions. The proposed modification to the exempt employee classification is substantial in that it significantly increases the salary basis required for exempt status. At this time, it is essential for HR professionals to understand the proposed modifications to the FLSA so that we can prepare for what comes next. During this presentation, attendees will be educated on general FLSA exempt salary requirements, on the probable changes to exempt salary requirements and on what HR professionals can do now to prepare for future impacts.
